Braive is an e-learning tool developed by psychologists to help people improve their mental skills and wellbeing. Our range of interactive, easy to use programs teach you the tools to reduce stress, improve your thinking and build healthy habits for life. Our courses are customised to the challenges you are facing and in each program you will be introduced to stories from other people who have faced similar challenges to you, and their journey through treatment.
CBT is a short term for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Simply put, the goal of CBT is to change people’s behaviour by helping them analyse and improve and their patterns of thinking: A guiding rule for CBT is that it is not the situation you are in, but how you react to it, that is important. If you can recognize and change patterns of unhelpful thinking and behaviour that are causing problems, you can also change the way you feel. CBT takes a practical hands-on approach to solving problems and has a proven track record for treating stress, anxiety, depression and a range of other challanges.
Research shows that online CBT is often just as effective as face-to-face therapy. The principles and tools used in iCBT are exactly the same as those used in traditional CBT, meaning that the learning and recovery process is very similar in both forms of treatment. For those who have the drive and motivation to keep engaging with treatment without a therapist to check up on them, iCBT offers all the same benefits as traditional therapy but is much more cost effective and easy to access.
Internet-based CBT is ideal for busy people who do not have the time or opportunity to attend face-to-face therapy each week. Our programs can be completed at your own pace, in your spare time. Since each program is self-directed, iCBT works best for people who are willing to take responsibility for their own progress and who are able to stay motivated to complete each lesson and exercise every week.
The therapeutic relationship in face-to-face treatment is unarguably an important part of traditional therapy. At the same time, the most important aspect of face-to-face therapy is for the client to learn how to transfer and apply what they learn in the therapy process in relation to healthy relationships, coping skills and communication, into their own day-to-day life. One of the main challenges in our society today is the limited access to any type of treatment. Braive offers an alternative.
The duration of our programs ranges from 8 to 12 weeks. That gives you enough time to learn each new idea and practice each technique until you have mastered it, allowing you to keep maintaining your wellbeing long after you have completed the program.
Braive continuously works with primary and secondary care providers in order to verify and explor various components for our different programs. To date Braive has research projects with primary care “Rask psykisk helsehjelp” and “Frisklivssentralen” in Bydel Gamle Oslo and secondary care “DPS Raskere Tilbake” at Lovisenberg hospital in Oslo.
There is strong evidence that psychological treatment, especially cognitive behavioral treatment, can be effectively delivered online to treat a range of mental problems (Andrews et al, 2018). Andrews et al (2018) concluded in his review and meta-analysis that iCBT for anxiety and depression is an effective, acceptable and practical health care solution. When compared to face to face therapy, iCBT has proven to be just as effective, as well as being more convenient and appealing for the user. (Andersson et al, 2014).
The mental health check is a short set of questions designed to get an overview of your current mental wellbeing. It is based on globally used and validated standardized psychometric tests that help measure a person’s mental health. An inbuilt algorithm allow us to personalize the questions we ask, to the answers you provide along the way. The mental health check gives you insight into your own mental health and makes it possible for us to recommend the program that is right for you. If needed, you can also print the complete test results and bring them along to your doctor, psychologist or other health care professional to interpret.
In order to identify which program is best suited for your needs, your first step is to take a Mental Health Check. The test is free of charge.
We have a free Mental Health Check (MHC) which will help you identify your symptoms/challenges and help us provide you with a recommendation of a program that is most suitable for you. The MHC is composed of a battery of internationally validated psychometric tests that is proven to identify type- and level of symptoms across the most common mental health challenges.

The cost for a complete treatment program is 75 Euros. You can pay on our website using standard credit cards and debit cards.
You can get started as soon as you have completed your payment. Each lesson takes 2-7 days to complete and the next lesson will be available a set of number of days after completing the previous lesson. This is to ensure that you have time to work through the exercises and try out your new skills in your life, before moving on to learning new things.
The more time you spend on the homework assignments, the better your chances are for lasting improvement. But the amount and practice required differs from individual to individual. The main message is: the more you practice a new skill, the better you will get at it. You have chosen to start this program, and the time you spend on it is entirely up to you.
Our programs are developed with ease of use in mind. Each lesson is structured and worded to make information as easily understandable as possible, regardless of whether you have any prior computer skills or psychological knowledge.
When signing into Braive you are asked whether or not you would like to be a part of our ongoing research and the possibility of helping science develop and improve. The information you provide gives us the opportunity to measure the effect of our programs so that we can continue our research and keep improving them. All information we use in our research goes through an irreversible de-identification process, meaning that all names will be substituted for numbers to protect your privacy.

Of course, we recommend that you do not leave it for too long, and that you set reminders for yourself to keep progressing. If you cannot enter a specific activity you may not have reached that part of the program yet. As soon as you have completed an activity you can always go back and repeat it as often as you like.
When changing your habits you need time to let the new habits settle. The more you use them the stronger your new healthy habits will become.
